I wonder how many who come here on H4 know what complexities lay ahead in the G.C processing. unfortunately it is not easy to undo their marriage and go back.
They need a fair deal too just like the way those in EB-3 are waiting for a proposal that addresses their issues more directly rather than trickle down. I guess u r one of them.
I dont know how much u know about G.C before u came here. I am yet to understand it clearly.

I am in a similar position but working on 3 months contract through a consulting company on w2. It is similar to my 485 job details, but it is a short term project.
Would I get an RFE if I work on contract on W2?
In my personal opinion, you should look out for permanent offers. I tend to prefer 1099 contracts as opposed to W-2 because 1099s tend to make stronger case for self employment.

I landed on March 17, 08 and came back the same day to the US using Automatic Visa Revalidation. I had no questions asked either by Canadian or US authorities. When you land the Canadian authorities will staple a piece of paper to your PP as proof of PR until you get the PR card. While re-entering the US I remove that stapled paper as it was very annoying every time you opened the PP. Nobody will question you just because you have a plan B.
Using AVR may seem like using a viable option, but I'm not even sure if it is for me since I don't even have a H1B stamp in my passport (expired or otherwise) since I haven't left the country since I switched from F1 to H1B status. I'll almost certainly have to use AP to return to the US after landing. As per other concerns in this thread, I don't know if the scrutiny to my AP and passport with the Canadian Visa is going to cause issues when I re-enter.

This is not correct from legal point of view. I would put this statement as
-- Must have valid work authorization. Sponsorship for any work visa is not offered.
Employer can not ask for kind of authorization. It could be, EAD, OPT, GC etc. As long as applicant is qualified as per I-9 form, kind of authorization should not matter.
Of course, H-1B applicant can not apply for this job position since visa sponsorship is not available.

My frined got receipt from TSC yesterday, his attorney sent package them on 31st , I think they got it on June 1st. He has not got finger printing notice yet.
I applied on May 18th 140/485 Nebraska, Got receipt on May 28 from TSC with finger printing schedule after 2 weeks. 140 got approved on 23rd May.
Friends, My friends is saying if the New bill approves then we might have to re-apply again, even wealready have applied 485, is this True? I am bit confuse, I aksed to my Lawyer he said your Labor and 140 is New , he cannot tell anything at this point. If the person is already applied and waiting for Card should be effected, any opinion?

The other day you spent the entire day answering every question(s) people had. I even told my wife that our good friend is going to take all our worries out pretty soon. EB2 will no longer going accept porting so we will go faster and then guess what you didn't even file the law suit yet....you let us down!!

You should be proud of what you are doing. Even if you dont do a great job, You should try your best and you should still believe that you are doing it to the best of your ability and no one can do it better. But the way you talk, you seem to be a big loser and one of those, who feel lucky to have got your H1B. Probably, USA wont lose anything when one some like you leave. But Dont talk for the folks here. If you think you are below average, thanks for accepting it. Anyway, we would have known that from your shameless post. Most of us here deserve it and are special and are destined for greater achievements.

I will give you a sincere and useful suggestion, that hopefully will be valid to others as well. Please refrain from pulling the race card on people talking about immigration. That makes you look emotional, character assassin and worse, that can make people perceive you as a racist yourself. That is the failed tactics used by illegal aliens and uneducated people when confronted with the reality that their attitude and posture is irrational. As far as I can tell, NumbersUSA objects against Irish people who came here illegally. Therefore I do not see any correlation between racial profiling there as you seem to persist. I am not here to defend NumbersUSA or Lou Dobbs. I am just here to remind you that if we continue following the rationale "us vs them" and doing character assassination, we will undeniably face rough opposition and struggle to get what we deserve.

Do you not realize that the companies in USA knows a different in good US school and Bad one - So in nutshell the people from bad school wont get job? Do you know that there is nature's rule - Fittest Survival... So in case you are fit enough and qualified enough to get a job then you will get one, it does not matter if you are from good or bad school....
Also, looking at your thoughts, it does not appear that you are MIT or Stanford grade material, so do us all a favor and keep your thoughts to yourself....

In this case, this classic rule has applied beyond expectations because people who are calling are already racist who sit on their ass and expect all colored people to be their slaves and get things done for them. They want their mexican maid or indian computer programmer doing things for them but the moment they realize that these foreigners might get citizenship and be equal to them, they dont like that.... (and so do you)....So there you go....No wonder they pick up phone and dial....In any case, what better can they do?

What I posted was a plea to introspect (more so as the first anniversary of the D.C. rally approaches) - it was in no way dismissive of your efforts, or an effort to ridicule or demean your thread or its spirit.
Not sure why you felt the need to be rude - being firm and clear about your goals is a sign of leadership, and being blunt may get you some more brownie points. However, brash/rude behavior is not a substitute for that clarity and firmness, imho - particularly with those who may be working towards the same goals as you are (albeit coming at it from a different angle).

I agree with your assessment. I was there myself this past dec/Jan and I am thinking along the same lines
I dont see why we need to struggle here and the future looks so bleak. India is really booming and we have missed out on the best 5 years of that. If we dont move back in the next 2-3 years we would have missed out on the biggest boom period in India's history.
There was a time when Infrastructure in India was the biggest concern, but things are changing rapidly. I was amazed at the changes in the last 2 years since I was last there.
Good luck to you and hopefully I am able to make up my mind soon

This is a neat idea to draw worthwhile attention which at the same time won't cause any hatred. I'm sure most of us would like to act upon this.
Can one of core members talk to a florist and workout some kind of arrangement where if we call them and give a code and payment they would process the order with a pre-set message and delivery address. I'm sure we will have a large participation if we make the process simple for the mass.
