This is what we are doing every day. Our team & QGA are in constant touch with the offices of several senators. We are definitely concentrating on the 2 senators you have named here. We are very hopeful that something will come up soon. But again until it really comes to the floor all we can do is keep the hope and spirits high!!!!

$ 745 is the total fee for I-485, I-131, I-765 & biometrics. Many people sent single check of $745 per application. It is weird to see that kind of rejection.

The best way to generate Revenue is to attract Advertisements on IV website. There is lot of traffic in IV from Indians and Chinese and some people from ROW.
IV can create a job board which where employers who are willing to Hire H1B can post the jobs and pay a fraction of Fee compared to other job boards. That will increase the membership also. Also we can charge a fee from people who want to search and find Jobs.

How about requesting a $1donation when a non-contributing member ask a question, or $5 dollars for ten posts.It is not much but will definitely bring some revenue.
We can have a forum like member only access...where the question can only be posted by payed members or by people who pay a small donation? The idea is that the amount requested is not much ,which anyone can afford, but the number of questions people ask on our forum will definitely generate some revenue.
We can start a volunteer thread as a pilot program to see what kind of response we get...what do Core and rest of the member think of it?

There are 2 processing centers - Atlanta and Chicago...but all the audited cases can be processed only at Atlanta, i.e chicago audited cases will be transferred to Atlanta....
I believe there is only one processing center for PERM now. Only Atlanta is doing the PERM processing. All cases are trasfered to atlanta from chicago. Thats what I heared from Ron Gocher.

Yes, I did. That is how I came to know that I had to send the card back, with a fresh I765 (but no fees), and a letter explaining the error (as it it wasn't obvious).. my worry was (still is) that my application would join the pile of applications, and would sit there in the bottom.. another potential wait of six months..
So, I did all I could. I called up USCIS a couple of times, took an Info Pass appointment, and talked to an official at ASC when I went for my finger printing appointment.. They were all sorry about it, but could not do much to help. Returning and re-applying are the only options. However, I was told (not sure how much to believe), that since it is obviously their error, it would not take long to fix and they'll send me a corrected card earlier than it would have taken if it were a regular fresh application.
Anyway, my lawyer did her own checking and calling - we gave her the EAD and two fresh photos, and a copy of proof of identity (drivers license)
, and she promised to take care of it.
Will post if it works out well.. :)

This is yet another inefficiency on their part. When it comes to AC21 your file does not even get updated even though you may have attached I-485 receipt along with AC21 filing. But when the employer revokes I-140 they don't forget to send you NOID or even I-485 denial.

Now a days I am seeing lots of questions asked by new members. If you have some mechanisms to show whether they have registered with valid data or fake data would help the other members who spend time in answering those questions.
I would request all the new members to contribute to our cause. Join monthly contribution of $20 and help yourselves. Thanks.

People do not even bother to put their correct state when they create a free membership account. If we do not get correct email address we cannot communicate with you via emails. We also need your name and phone number so that we can call you. There have been times, when core team has called members to tell them about something important. We will sometimes point out on the forum if any poster has not given us full information. It may cause embarresment to some members who are frequently posting on the forums annonymously.

I think it is high time we need to set rules and roles for senior member alike - they are supposed to bring people to the group not the otherway around - We are setting a wrong precedence - A guy who has contributed more than you, can ask you to lay off ilikekilo, and that is not far away.
Anyways, Some of the members have become super stars by being here and wanting to do more so let seniors show the real attitude to freshmen.

Got an email from HR (Large US Based Tech company) sometime back that there is a possibility representative of the USCIS may come to work location to review an employees immigration petition and this appears to be part of USCIS standard procedure. Employees have been provided with HR contact details to contact, if it happens for anyone. This is not unusual and this could very well happen to any one. Just a routine procedure. Nothing to worry much on this as long as you provide the details and if you have not violated any laws, etc..

You can go visit India after your AP has been applied for, and you can ask your lawyer ( if you are using one ) to send the docs to you in India , so that you can come back with the new approved AP, off course you can't enter USA on an expired AP.
My lawyer has confirmed that one is only required to be present in the USA when applying and it's recommended that one is in US when it's approved, but due to the varying time USCIS is taking to process AP applications that is not a requirement and they can forward the documents to someone not in US.

For me it's hard to see the difference between both the jobs. Seems like both fall under same DOL code.
I would say don't worry and go for it. I have done switch from being programmer to DBA and I won't lose a single second of sleep on that.

As your job will be similar you will have common words like "develop", "analyze" "test" etc. But how the whole thing matches word to word. Is it possible to request the new employer to phrase the offer letter as per you LC description? Can they entertain such request?

During you process for porting from EB3 to EB2 did you:
1. Do this within the same organization after getting your advanced degree?
2. Did you have to file for a new PERM and start from the begineeing under EB2?
3. Were you successfully able to port your PD or did you start with a new PD under EB2?
Hi Harry mine was an EB2 case to begin with, no porting. Only this is my timing was not correct and I missed the Jul 07 window, the labor filing took way too long. So kind of in the same boat as you, trying to find legal avenues to upgrade to EB1. Let�s wait for some advice to come by. Looking at your case as well I believe that EB1-A is the only option.

Definitely a good idea.........the first thing that needs to happen is for us immigrants to contact our own employers (and if it is a big company - they will have some section that deals with govt affairs/lobbying) ask them to support our cause through action.......
I work for a small company, but my employer is a very decent man and may provide some funds..........(Christmas season and all!).
