Is it not true that you would need to invest 1 million or so to get the GC ?, i am EB 2 with PD July 09 (not approved yet), my options are, a) go back b) go back c) go back , so i guess we will wait for this CIR, if it does not pass, and if I am still here, then I am outta here :cool:
For people like me with 3-Year degree EB2 is not an option. The only option I see is Investor Route...

Got email from my lawyer that my Receipt Notices were already received by his office.
My application for I-140/485/EAD was sent on July 30 and received on July 31. I checked it online and it says "On September 6, we received your....".
I filed in NSC and I received LIN numbers.
I will support the rally; it is just I really cannot come due to personal reasons. I already called some of my friends and some are joining the rally. I also sent some e-mail to the office of the Governor of California, to our congressman, and Senator.
I am sending some mails to the media.

Well, it goes beyond that. This is a "complicated story with no sub titles".
IV website is a board where people of all kinds visit and there is no control over stuff. Just go to any blog site - we see 100 rants and crazy comments as against a few wise talk.
I guess we have to live with it and keep pushing people. Sometimes loud and sometimes gently.
My friend, it is to "push the people" that I am saying all this. How best can we push? Through word of mouth, or thru full campaign?
Another idea: How about restructuring the forums?
In the home page, we promote only those discussions that are important to all, like advocacy.
In next tab, we take on the discussions that are based on individual problems
And all else, can go to the third tab
Also on home page, the following items (just some examples of general interest matter):
- Advocacy day. Donations received vs required.
- Big red button: Donate
- Some links to recent news items on immigration
Home page should have text content that introduces IV, its activities, and a small lecture on why skilled immigration is important

as gc28262 has indicated, that proper analysis and the correct interpretation of the law is needed to change such matters. Unless, EB3 people come out of the lethargic content/self pity and start working on the issues as if their life depended on it (it does) - just writing to the senators and representatives will not help. The legislative offices is not going to do the analysis (in the time that matters to us) and address it to the USCIS. However, if we do the ground work and then approach them, we may have a better chance of succeeding.
Whenever EB3 asks for writing to senators and congressmen, EB2 folks will discourage, but when Eb2 wants to write to the same group everyone encourages.

Guys this year's party is pretty much over :rolleyes:....whts the point debating something whether right or wrong which pretty much nobody can do anything about except went frustration from whichever side of the isle one sits on.....
As per Mr C.O. of USCIS I guess they have sent out the party invitation for the year so I guess there is no point sniping at each other. New inivitations will start from July next yr...;)

On Aug 17th the message changed to "On Aug 16th Card Production Ordered...."
when should I expect the card in mail?
Did you receive the welcome notices? The 797 approval notices is what I mean.
Once you get that, from there within a weeks times you should get your physical cards.
From the CPO mail at the most 2 weeks. That is the trend.

Yes, u r lawyer is right. It is fine to skip.
Hi - I currently have my H1B(H4 for my wife) valid till Mar 2011 and EAD expires on 10/15/08.
Can I skip the renewal process for now and apply for EAD later?
My lawyer says it is OK to skip for now and apply for EAD/AP anytime as long as I-485 is pending.
Please advise.

My papers were received at Nebraska Center by one... M. Schwitzer on 30th July. So far nothing... no receipts, no encashed checks.
Latest frontlog update shows they have reached 29th July. It is a farce. In my office, I know of at least 5 guys whose papers were received in Nebraska Center between 17th to 20th July. Their checks are not even encashed till today.
They just put in wrong and fake info just to please their bosses. This is a messy setup.
Perhaps it is time for us to wake up one day and head to our "real and true" homes! May be we will eat Dal Roti only but we would be proud of ourselves and not remain at the mercy of these insensitive folks at INS. I am sure most of them are guys like you and me, but the system sucks and deep inside our hearts we off-load our anger and frustation at them....

I have sent to my state senators + 10 senators IV identified. I have also sent an email to the ND senator after he voiced his support for our cause on the senate floor today. I now plan to write to all 2008 presidential candidates. Most importantly I am going to write to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, as he has always been a champion of business and immigrant communities.

It is true that country quota is a discrimination. But when you just try to remove the country quota other country persons are going to oppose as they will be impacted if country quota is removed. But if you try with other agenda like recapture then opposition may not be strong and also every one will get benefit.
